Senior Architectural Technologist

The Opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Architectural Technologist to join our collaborative studio. This is a key leadership role responsible for providing technical direction, managing project delivery, and mentoring team members across a portfolio of projects.
Senior Technologists at Invizij are experts in their profession, playing a vital role in both project and people leadership. You’ll serve as a technical authority, a mentor to junior and intermediate staff, and a trusted liaison to clients and consultants—helping us deliver excellence from concept to construction.

What You’ll Do
- Lead the development of drawing packages for permits and construction
- Oversee and manage multiple projects through all design and construction phases
- Coordinate consultant teams and manage relationships with authorities having jurisdiction
- Lead client and consultant meetings, ensuring strong communication and aligned expectations
- Guide team resourcing, task allocation, and performance reviews (if applicable)
- Provide technical expertise on building systems, detailing, building envelope, and constructability
- Prepare contract documentation and specifications (including CCDC)
- Conduct quality assurance reviews throughout project phases
- Lead and perform site reviews, shop drawing reviews, and contract administration
- Support studio standards, BIM management, and the development of technical best practices
- Ensure adherence to project budgets and schedules
- Contribute to a positive studio culture and continuous improvement of our policies and systems
What You Bring
- 10+ years of experience in architecture, including a minimum of 5 years in Canada
- Proven leadership experience managing teams of architects, technologists, and designers
- Expert technical knowledge, especially within a Revit/BIM environment
- Strong familiarity with Ontario Building Code, CCDC contracts, and permitting processes
- Passion for sustainable design—Passive House experience or interest is a strong asset
- Clear communication and interpersonal skills for client-facing and team leadership roles
- A collaborative mindset with a commitment to mentorship, inclusion, and innovation
