Dunnville Farmers Market

This farmers market and waterfront pavilion was envisioned for the former Dunnville Arena site. The overall design parti was that of a “refined traditional barn”, and hence followed a familiar rural typology. Large doubled-up scissor trusses provide a barn-like atmosphere inside the pavilion, and a large skylight at the ridge brings in ample daylight, referencing the play of light from historic hayloft access doors in traditional barns.
In addition to a large open space for farmers to sell their produce throughout the growing season, the pavilion is home to public washrooms and a summer tourism office. Outside of market times, the Waterfront Pavilion will be available to individuals, organizations and groups that wish to rent the space for a special occasion or event.
