The Elms development will be a Seniors Retirement Complex serving the Community of Elmvale, the surrounding Township of Springwater and areas beyond with a focus on strengthening existing relationships, building new friendships, and indulging in hobbies and interests. The master plan for the site will include up to 240 dwelling units, a medical centre, an interior road, recreation areas, and pathways on a 10.7 acre property. As the rural town of Elmvale is deeply rooted in its agricultural history, the design is inspired by bucolic views of the surrounding farmland, embracing the simple, efficient shapes and details of traditional agrarian architectural form.
To express respect for history, traditional artwork and other beautiful keepsakes will be featured in various public spaces as celebrated objects juxtaposed against the residence’s clean, light-filled interiors. Authenticity will be expressed throughout the design by featuring local, natural materials. Shared indoor and outdoor amenity space – including a community garden – will support a vibrant, active internal community, and quality one- and two- bedroom units will support a wide range of resident needs.
We have been working with the Elmvale Active Seniors Residence board of directors on the first phase of development, which will include 66 Life-Lease units in the Elm Flats building and 12 garden suites.
