The Student Recreation Centre on the campus of Redeemer University was in need of a renovation to suit the growing student body and the social & academic needs of a new generation of students. Alterations included removing the massive, central stone fireplace and chimney which had created a visual and spatial barrier, reducing the size of the mezzanine and sunken room to accommodate smaller groups, new windows, and new finishes. The result is a new large volumetric space that allows for larger gatherings and socialization, increased barrier free access, and a fresh, modern look.
