At the Table Café & Kitchen renovations at YWCA Hamilton

At The Table: Recipe for Change is a social enterprise catering company initiative at YWCA Hamilton, using fresh, local and seasonal ingredients while providing healthy meals and training opportunities to women and girls. In spring 2017, YWCA Hamilton’s At the Table café opened to the public following a kitchen and café renovation project aimed at creating a social hub for our clients and members of our community to purchase and enjoy freshly prepared breakfast and lunch. The kitchen and café renovation project increased the YWCAs capability to provide meaningful training and employment for women.

to the renovations, the kitchen was in need of major repairs to bring it up to Code and the cafeteria had not been used for several years, following the defunding of meal programs for the women’s shelter. The YWCA was happy to bring new life back to this space, inviting members from the community to enjoy the fruits of this social enterprise. Since opening, the café has been well-received by the community.
