Invizij was a proud sponsor of @nationaltrustca`s annual National Trust Conference this year, Canada’s largest heritage learning and networking event! As presenters, we were in excellent company, and loved gathering with such a diverse group of heritage enthusiasts—from professionals, to planners, policy makers, property owners, activists and more.
We had the opportunity to highlight our work on some wonderful @indwell.ca projects!
* St. Mark’s Place - an adaptable reuse project that redeveloped St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Kitchener into 43 affordable apartments.
*Health Services Building Apartments – The rehabilitation of one of the three remaining buildings from the former Victoria Hospital campus to deliver 96 supportive housing units.
* Hilda Stuart Lofts – The rehabilitation of a four-storey masonry building (constructed between 1921 and 1922) to deliver 42 units of affordable housing.
Conference attendees had the opportunity to tour @Indwell’s Magnolia Apartments – a project that redeveloped St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in downtown Kitchener, delivering more than 40 studio apartments across the ground, second, and third floors.
It was also a treat to see the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation Council House featured in one of the presentations! This Invizij Design-Build project restored a two-storey heritage council building to its earlier configuration, preserving and revitalizing a historically significant landmark. Originally opened in 1882, the building once again serves as an important place where governance work is done, and the community needs are met.
