The much-needed women’s drop in centre, Carole Anne’s Place, is located within the downtown YWCA Hamilton. Located in what was the large pool room and changing areas and accessed off Jackson St., this bright new space will support 25 women in the overnight stay and many more in the day program (it is open from 10pm-1pm each day). The highlight of the space is the phenomenal murals by local artist Kayla Whitney.
It’s open to women and gender diverse people. There are wrap around services offered on site, like harm reduction, health services (nurses, and doctor at the clinic), & housing. YWCA Hamilton strengthens women’s and girls’ voices, broadens their choices, builds dynamic leadership, and provides essential and meaningful services that promote safe, inclusive, and equitable communities. We are so delighted to be able to work with the YW in their pursuit of creating a more equitable Hamilton for women and girls!
