New affordable housing complex for the City of Brantford. The project was built on a city-owned site in a residential neighbourhood near the Grand River. The thirty new affordable housing studio apartments are intended to help fill the gap for affordable, supportive housing in the city in particular for seniors. In addition to the individual apartments, the complex includes staff offices and a common room for tenants with a small kitchenette. The design includes a simple double-loaded corridor with gable dormers. The cladding is a mix of masonry and vinyl siding, reflecting the rural aesthetic of the nearby community. The building is fully barrier free, with 15% of units following the Brantford FADS specifications. The project delivery method is Design-Build.
